So Toronto FC decided not to go down the positional needs route (ie pick a CB) with their first pick, and instead drafted Luis Silva, a midfielder from UCLA. I won't pretend to know much about him for sure, but he had a great combine and according to opta on twitter,
Luis Silva created 7 scoring opportunities throughout the 2012 MLS Combine; the most by any player. Vision.
A back up for Avila? Maybe. One for the future I think, but a strange decision to pick a non Generation Adidas player who'll actually count to the cap.
We;ll have more on Silva later, in the meantime, for more draft coverage, check out our SuperLive SuperDraft SuperThread here.
