Just stupidity...that's all I can say. That is the most accidental of "fouls" let alone an excuse to send a player off. Ecks is in possession of the ball, swings his leg out to scoop it forward, and he steps on the guys leg. The ref has a great line of sight, doesn't call it but the side official does. Then the impact player shows a cut on his leg and suddenly it's a red? Ok then. I expect this from a CONCACAF ref, not from a competition as prestigious as the Amway Canadian Championship.
