2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifier, CONCACAF Third Round
Estadio Pedro Marrero, Havana, Cuba
2:00pm ET (12:00pm MT)
Okay, despite TFC's best attempts to steal their thunder, let's turn our attention back to the Canadian men's team, as they continue their quest for a trip to Brazil in 2014...and the first stop of this third round will take them to Havana, Cuba -- not exactly the most glamorous footballing mecca, but win the Canadians must to have any hope of advancing to "the hex".
The elements are stacked against the Canadians -- the pitch at the Pedro Marrero is terrible at best, and the forecast for Havana tomorrow is going to be a sweltering 32 degrees, which will make life unbearable and grinding out a win difficult. But Cuba really aren't that good, if Canada's going to get away points, and it really has to at some point, this is the best bet, so again, win they must.
The lineup should be largely the same from the friendly against the USA in Toronto last weekend, except Atiba Hutchinson, who is nursing a bit of a niggle, may or may not be healthy enough to get back into the team. Click here for Duncan's full preview, and as is usual for any Canada game, you really can't go wrong with Red nation Online or sportsnet's coverage.
The game starts at 2. We'll be here with team news and chat from about 1 or so onwards, and unlike the USA game, will actually be here throughout the game as well, so if your twitter feed is full of all that Euro nonsense, and you want something more Canada focussed, join us here.
Allez les Rouges!
