Something has changed within me, something is not the same,
I'm through with playing by the rules of someone else's game.
Too late for second-guessing, too late to go back to sleep,
It's time to trust my instincts, close my eyes, and leap...
- "Defying Gravity", from the musical "Wicked"
Well, who'd expect we'd be here today? Overcoming a British side that's on a roll...and now playing on one of the most hallowed grounds in football: Old Trafford. Who amongst you could say for sure that they'd be here today?
The players certainly are, and in process are defying gravity once more -- not expected to perform well, not expected to make it past Great Britain, the list goes on and on and on. Maybe they won't get past this barrier, but until they try, we won't know what will happen. And that is exactly why we are here today: to see the Canadian women try to do what many consider impossible: knock out the USA.
Luck could be on their side: Alex Morgan picked up a knock during the Americans' quarter-final with New Zealand. While she's expected to recover, Morgan has not been on-song all tournament; something that Canada can exploit. No changes are expected for Big Red, as Candace Chapman is not expected to be ready until at least the medal matches.

Join us before and during the match for live chat in the comments segment below -- as someone once told me lately, everyone deserves a chance to fly. And today, it is Canada's turn.
