Toronto FC @ Columbus Crew. Postponed.

After Sunday's tragic death of Crew's Columbus Kirk Urso, the league has announced today that this Saturday's game against Toronto FC is postponed to August 22nd. Here's the details from MLSSoccer.com.

The upcoming Aug. 11 match between the Columbus Crew and Toronto FC has been postponed, Major League Soccer announced Thursday evening.

The game, set for 7:30 pm ET on Saturday evening, will be pushed back a week and a half to allow Crew players and staff to attend the funeral of rookie midfielder Kirk Urso, who passed away in the early hours of the morning on Aug. 5

Both clubs agreed to the postponement, and the game will be played at Crew Stadium on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 7:30 pm ET. All tickets for the Aug. 11 game will be honored on the new date.

While not ideal for TFC or supporters who'd planned to make the trip to Ohio, it's a very sensible decision given the funeral and the emotion that would have surrounded the match.
