So apparently NYCFC will be looking to bring in 4 Man City players on loan. The article doesn't say anything in terms of when it would happen so I'm operating on the assumption that it would be for their inaugural season. It may seem hyperbolic to say it would be the death of parity in the MLS, but I have a hard time seeing this as being a good thing for the league. It's not clear whether they would be considered DPs, but depending on who pays how much of the wages while they are on loan you could easily end up with 4 league leading 18-21 year old players taking up minimum cap hits and allowing NYCFC to essentially field 7 DPs for any given game. I'm not saying that this is what is definitely going to happen, but with league-breaking potential like that I think MLS should be looking to monitor this arrangement very closely.
