Waking The Red, a Toronto FC community

This has been a subject that we here at Waking The Red have covered on and off throughout the last year or so, and this story is particularly striking especially to myself. David Testo's coming-out is now a well-known story on both sides of the border, but very little detail of his past has really emerged -- until now. Leander Schaerlaeckens' piece highights his career, and offers an example of what we could potentially do for an openly gay TFC player. The Olympic women's football tournament is about to kick off, and we here at Waking the Red are excited for Canada -- sure, they've got Japan and Sweden, but what about South Africa? So that's why we will be hosting a very special Olympic Edition of WTR Live on Saturday morning for the South Africa match, starting at 9:30AM ET (7:30am MT), regardless if the game will be fully live on CTV or not. Also, we will be giving away one of two Christine Sinclair jerseys (courtesy of our friends at Umbro) during the match -- so if that isn't enough incentive to get up early to watch the game and chat with us, then I don't know what is!
