So Tuesday's win in Dallas was a triumphant end to the season (What? Still one game left? Really? Oh.) and so thoughts turn to all your traditional post season articles, including rating the players. Obviously Toronto FC have had a loooooot of them this year, a record 38 so far have got on to the pitch in MLS play, and when you add in Dasan Robinson and Leandre Griffit's legendary CCL exploits, that takes us to a nice round 40. So what better way to rank them than with a good old fashioned top 40 countdown?
Yep, starting Monday October 31st, we'll be profiling and commenting on all the players who played even the smallest part of a game for TFC this year, one a day from number 40 until we reach number one some time in December. This is where we need your help. I'm looking to get as many people to vote as possible, so as to come up with a definitive list where personal biases against certain players get averaged out, and we end up with a good idea of how TFC supporters as a whole rate the team and players.
Here's what to base the rankings on, a very straight forward question. Who had the most positive impact on Toronto FC's season?
Base it on whatever you want really, stats (this isn't ideal as it includes games played for other teams, but the best i can find so far.), overall play, goals scored against us for other teams, off pitch antics both good and bad, whatever you think made a difference.
If you want to participate, send me an email at duncanfletcher@gmail.com and I'll send you the form to fill out, reply with your ratings, and feel free to add any comments about any particular players you want to. I'll get all the results together and we'll go from there. Cheers
*requested would probably be a better word, if everyone ignores me and it's just the 3 of us, this'll still go ahead
