Bruce Arena tore things up today as he selected 4 players in Round 2 of the draft, as well as selecting 2 of his own players in Hejduk and Robinson. Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal all passed, here are all the selections below. Teams have 7 days to offer a contract to the players they selected.
1. Seattle Sounders FC- Marc Burch from DC United
2. New England Revolution- Nate Jaqua from Seattle Sounders FC
3. Chicago Fire- Kheli Dube from New England Revolution
4. Colorado Rapids- Baggio Husidic from Chicago Fire
5. LA Galaxy - Andrew Boyens from New York Red Bulls
6. New England- Clyde Simms from DC United
7. Colorado- Hunter Freeman from Houston Dynamo
8. LA Galaxy- Chris Leitch from San Jose Earthquakes
9. LA Galaxy- Pat Noonan from Seattle Sounders FC
10. LA Galaxy- Jon Conway from Chicago Fire
11. LA Galaxy - select both Frankie Hejduk and Dasan Robinson (both their own players)
Clearly LA, Colorado and New England were the three busiest teams. LA is adding some depth to it's already stellar squad. If TFC made all the moves LA made today, we'd be hearing how stupid they are, but when LA go through with it, they're just "smart". Will be interesting to see how Conway does as Saunders back up in California.
So what do you guys think? Glad TFC passed on the draft? Any selections that stand out? There were certainly some players selected with ties to TFC. Hunter Freeman, Conway, Dasan Robinson and Boyens.
On a side note, that draft was so freaking fast. Take some time to digest these picks, and let your mind rest.
