It's been a long time since I've even thought of you,
It's been a long time since I realized that you weren't there,
It's been a long time since I looked at what I'm doing,
It's been a long time since I realized I don't really care,
Cause I'm thinking of you down in Mexico, feeling free as the air,
Here I am stuck in the city, still going nowhere.

- "You, Me and Mexico", Edward Bear

It's been a while since we've seen Santos Laguna -- things might not have changed much since then for TFC, but here we are again: a Mexican team, an MLS team, in the eternal struggle between the two leagues. Or is it? Given that Santos are winless in both trips to Canada, I think it's safe to say we can expect the unexpected -- or at least, a good try from TFC, either that or it's the fat lady sings.

Santos Laguna still have the same cast of characters, with a few add-ons here and there. But the same people are still there: Herculez Gomez, Darwin Quintero and Oswaldo Sanchez. But that same crew are struggling domestically; some say they may be suffering from a bit of a hangover from their Clausura win last year. Is it time for Toronto the lay in the knife on the continental stage? We shall find out tonight.

There's options for TFC: Eric Hassli is working hard to get a crack at Santos Laguna, but the speedy Quincy Amarikwa will take his place if he can't. The German field marshal Torsten Frings, rested in Houston, is back. Darren O'Dea and Terry Dunfield will likely play a role in the back. But the big question will be who will be in net: Freddy Hall, or Milos Kocic? It does look to be the former, which further begs the question -- what the hell is Paul Mariner doing?
