Canada names roster for Czech Republic and Slovenia friendlies

Benito Floro has named a 22-man roster that includes a lot of familiar names for Canada's November friendlies against the Czech Republic and Slovenia. Will Canada finally be able to snap their long scoring drought?

Canadian Soccer Association

Benito Floro has named his roster for Canada's upcoming friendlies against the Czech Republic and Slovenia.  The 22-man roster will be together for the friendlies and a camp that will run from November 15th-19th during the FIFA international window.

The bulks of Floro's roster is European based players but there are also a number of MLS players who have seen their seasons come to early ends.  That includes the regular quartet from Toronto FC as Doneil Henry, Ashtone Morgan, Kyle Bekker, and Jonathan Osorio are all once again included.

The one new face in camp this time around will by Karl Ouimette of the Montreal Impact who is in line to earn his first senior cap if he features in either of the matches. There is also a return for Nana Attakora to the roster as he has been absent recently for Canada having had to withdraw from the Gold Cup squad due to injury.

Since taking over Floro has been fairly consistent with the rosters that he has named.  On all three occasions that he has had the chance to get a group together for a camp the core of his squad has remained unchanged.  He seems to have a good idea of who he wants in his plans but this time around his options were slightly limited by the likes of Will Johnson being involved in MLS playoffs, and Atiba Hutchinson, David Edgar, and Julian De Guzman all out injured.

There are a few names that Canadian fans will be wondering where they are though as Lucas Cavallini continues to be absent for Canada squads despite the teams lack of scoring options.  Without him there, fans will continue to wonder just who is going to score goals for this team and bring an end to their long drought.  Goals certainly will not come easily against either of these two opponents.

Canada will play the Czech Republic  on November 15th in Olomouc, CZE before settling in for a camp in Austria which concludes with the match against Slovenia on the 19th which takes place in Celje, SVN.
