Here we go again, for the 3rd time this season, though the first at BMO Field, it's TFC vs the Revs, and TFC actually have a chance to win the season series, tied at 1 game each so far. Both of the first 2 games saw New England thoroughly dominate TFC, quite nicely showing the increase in TFC's defensive resilience. The first was very shortly after Steven Caldwell and Matias Laba arrived, and was pretty much the last hurrah for the first version of TFC this season. Their 5th straight loss and once again letting in a late goal, it finished 2-0.
From there, TFC got better, and went on a fairly respectable run over the next couple of months, the odd hiccup aside. That run ended with the 2nd game in Foxboro, a 1-0 win, TFC's second in a row, 3rd game unbeaten.
From there, things took a step back, there was that friendly and since then some insipid performances that have yielded 1 point from 3 games, and of course what now seems to be a season ending injury for Matias Laba.
If the same pattern is followed, TFC will lose, but then turn things around after this game, so hey, there's the silver lining if we do end up losing this one, can't help but think that we probably will. Might be best to hope for Ex related entertainment instead if you're going to the game.
