Jonas Elmer and Alvaro Rey are the biggest additions that Toronto FC have managed to make so far this summer transfer window. The club have promised a lot of big things but so far fans have been left waiting for any kind of news on those Designated Player level attackers. With the AS Roma friendly now behind us it is time to focus squarely on the transfer deadline.
We know that TFC are working hard to try and get something done before the end of the window with Ryan Nelsen skipping last night's match to be in Europe (apparently Spain) where he is trying to wrap up some transfer business. It remains to be seen if he will return with a player before the end of the window.
The main reported signings of Urruti and Aparicio could both be completed outside of the summer window assuming that Urruti is out of his contract with Newell's Old Boys. That could make today a rather disappointing day when it comes to activity.
Join in with us as and chat about the latest gossip, reports, tweets, news, and pretty much anything else to do with Toronto FC on this transfer deadline day.
Update: Today comes with some activity as Toronto confirm the signing of home grown player Manny Aparicio.
