When Toronto FC picked Dwayne De Rosario in the re-entry draft, it seemed obvious he'd be signed, given the history, it would be a horrible pick if there wasn't a basic agreement in place.
Then we waited and we waited. Over 2 weeks now with no official word, though those in the know types kept re-assuring that a deal was done. Negotiations were apparently being held up over an option year for 2015, De Rosario wanted one, TFC didn't. Anyway, we now have the first man up to commit to something in print, occasional WTR contributor Armen Bedakian over at Red Nation Online.
He says there is a second year on the contract, a conditional option though what the conditions are aren't noted. As for the cap hit, that's believed to be about $150,000, which seems reasonable.
Though the conditions and the cap hit probably won't be confirmed by anyone, the signing should be made official sometime next week.
