Some things never change.
Toronto FC supporters found this out again on Wednesday night when they were up a man for 40 minutes and yet couldn’t find the back of the net even once. A miraculous save, an unfortunate bounce, a shot of the post or a missed penalty, TFC have seen it all before. A cruel reminder that even with this facelift that TFC has been given the real TFC, the one we’ve grown accustomed to watching, is still there underneath this new found beauty.
Now on the road to New York, a place with horrid memories for fans (and one player on the roster) that remember the last time TFC were within a sniff of the post season and had to play in New Jersey. While this isn’t the last game of the season and New York is significantly better than they were in 2009 there are parallels to that game. As the only player on the squad that was a part of that team Dero needs to put on his leadership cap and get the other s on the team to feel the pain he felt that night so that no one will want to live through that. Like 2009 the Reds will need to take care of their business as well as have other results around the league to go their way. While they failed to hold up their end of the bargain back then league wide things went TFC’s way. TFC can’t afford to have that happen again.
Will this end up as another disappointing 5-0 loss in New York? Will TFC keep their dying post-season hopes alive? Post your predictions below or tweet your predictions to me, @Stouffvillain to ensure that your entry is accurately logged. As always 2 points for the correct result, 1 point for the correct TFC score and 1 point for the correct opponent score. Here are the up to date results.
