Toronto FC 1:3 New York Red Bulls- Highlights & Summary

Toronto FC saw their playoff hopes come to an end, as they fell to the New York Red Bulls 3-1. Jonathan Osorio had the only goal for Toronto, who were absolutely lackluster.

Everything that could have gone wrong did as Toronto FC fell 3-1 to the New York Red Bulls in a must win match that quickly turned into the 2009 nightmare that supporters have been having for years. With the loss playoffs are now highly improbable for Toronto, as they are six points behind Columbus Crew. The loss puts the team’s record at 11-14-7 on the season.

League leading scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips had the opening goal and the home side never looked back, scoring two more before half time and ending the match 45 minutes after it started. Ruben Bover Izquierdo had his first in MLS and Dax McCarty added the other. Jonathan Osorio had the lone goal for Toronto FC.

A breakdown of the match will be up shortly. Until then, watch this goal for Osorio’s sake. He was one of the only players who even remotely showed up tonight.
