Toronto FC have announced a press conference from Friday afternoon at 1 PM.  The press conference will take place at their Downsview training facility and is to announce the teams acquisition of Julio Cesar on loan from Queens Park Rangers.

The announcement comes as a surprise to no one after Cesar was linked with the club out of nowhere last week.  It was a report that grew quickly from Tim Leiweke mentioning the club being in position to acquire a top keeper on loan, to Brazilian outlets reporting that keeper would be Cesar, to Luiz Felipe Scolari confirming it in his press conference to name his latest Brazil squad, all the way up to TFC all but confirming it during their media day earlier this week.

Now we get the official confirmation that Cesar is coming to Toronto which should come with more of the details which fans have been wondering.  The first question on everyone's mind is certainly what the terms of the loan will look like and how long Cesar is going to be with the team.

The loan will run until at least the point where Cesar is expected to leave to join Brazil's World Cup squad.  His place in that team is the reason that he is willing to leave QPR and make the move to Toronto as he is in need of playing time over the coming months to get himself ready to potentially be Brazil's number one keeper this summer.  Sitting on the bench with QPR for the rest of the year was not going to get the job done so joining his former teammate, Ryan Nelsen, gives him a better chance of being match ready this summer.

We will have more details from the press conference when they become available but for now it is time to start getting excited about another big name player coming to town.
