Well we knew this day would come but I guess it's time to start caring about the USMNT. Or at the very least paying attention and hoping Michael Bradley doesn't get injured.
They'll be playing Mexico in Phoenix next Wednesday, April 2nd. It's not an international date so unsurprisingly the squad is full of MLS based players, even though it comes in the middle of two full weekends in the MLS calendar. there are a couple of players based in Mexico, DaMarcus Beasley and Michaael Orozco, as well as the latest US recruit Julian Green of Bayern Munich. Also, amusingly, this link on the USSF site lists Maurice Edu as playing for Bursaspor of Turkey.
Toronto are playing Real Salt Lake this Saturday, who have 3 players called up, Nick Rimando, Kyle Beckerman and Luis Gil, while next weekend they'll be in Columbus who had defender Michael Parkhurst called up which should negate any advantage for either side really. You'd think Klinsmann would be understanding of the situation and not running his players into the ground for the sake of a friendly, but more than likely Bradley would be getting at least a 45 minute run out. On the other hand, given this is the last game before the pre World Cup camp and friendlies, and Bradley is a lock for a place in the squad, maybe the fringe players will be given a chance to show what they can do instead. If he gets into the game it would be Bradley's 83rd cap.
Here's the squad in full:
