Once again, I'll start with a warning: There's a game on Wednesday so get your transfers in and set your lineups early.
What does having the lead in the Waking the Red MLS Fantasy League taste like? One can imagine it tastes like Canadian bacon, that’s because for the second week in a row Canadian Bacons find themselves on top of the standings. The weekly winner for the round was Jo Jo Adrenaline with 88 points. Jo Jo took advantage of the Philadelphia Union double week fielding Zac MacMath, Maurice Edu and Leo Fernandes. A solid lineup around the Union players also deserve their share of the credit, a combined 22 points from the Sporting KC duo of Zusi and Collin. The decision to captain Dempsey also paid off to the tune of 18 points.
HE’S ON FIRE
After scoring in the Wednesday night game Lloyd Sam of the New York Red Bulls leads all players with 1,877 teams acquiring the midfielder before their double week in round 8. Four of the next five players that fantasy managers are rushing to add are Houston Dynamo players, who also have a double week in round 8. Ricardo Clark is just ahead of the red hot Clint Dempsey in transfers. David Horst, Tally Hall and Will Bruin are all being added to rosters ahead of Wednesday night.
YOU’RE AS COLD AS ICE
The drop list this week could be seen from a mile away. Chivas USA’s rookie Thomas McNamara who will be having surgery to repair his knee is the most dropped player this week. If McNamara is on your roster drop him ASAP your bankroll will only be decreasing the longer you have him. A pair of players who saw red last weekend are the next on the list. Koffie Sarkodie, who could’ve been one of the most added players this week is being dropped as he will miss Houston’s match on Wednesday night. There isn’t much love for a player that has been on fire in recent weeks, Quincy Amarikwa. After picking up a red this week he also going to miss this weekend’s game.
VIEW FROM THE BUNKER
With a much needed week off this weekend make sure to get all TFC players out of your starting lineup. Try transferring some of them out for Red Bulls or Dynamo players before Wednesday’s deadline. Take advantage of the double week so long as it doesn’t jeopardize your team long term.
