Phew! That was close, but TFC squeaked through to the finals of the Voyageur’s Cup in two weeks. Before then there is the matter of actually playing some league matches, enough bye weeks and cup competitions.TFC have played as many as five fewer games than other Eastern conference foes so it’s time to start playing some games and climbing up the standings. What better way to start your ascension than a home match against a weakened New York squad?

New York has one of the most porous defenses but also one of the most potent attacks in the league. Luckily for TFC New York will have to do without world cup participants Roy Miller and Tim Cahill. The deadly attacking tandem of Thierry Henry and Bradley Wright-Phillips will be present however and TFC will have absences due to international duty as well. Joe Bendik has shown that he is a more than capable fill in for Julio Cesar, the greater question will be who can fill the big boots of Michael Bradley?
