I think US players should start off in MLS to start their careers, it helps them grow and gain more experience.  However, if the opportunity to play in a big league or a major club come knocking, you can't turn that down.  Not to say MLS is a bad league and can't harbour good talent within, but to leave and play in a league like the EPL or La Liga, will only help that player grow since they're exposed to great facilities with good coaching staffs and players around them to push them to play to their top level.  It can help the U.S team in the long run.
