A winning streak? Yes, TFC supporters that’s right TFC is on a winning streak. The last time the Reds won back to back games was May/June when they mounted wins over Columbus and San Jose. Since then the W’s have been sprinkled through the draws and losses. The most impressive part of this is that both wins have come on the road, where TFC hasn’t been successful traditionally. Last stop on the current road trip is Kansas City.
Everyone remembers the fireworks the last time TFC was in Kansas City. The red card came out against TFC and we got a heroic moment from Bradley Orr in the dying moments of the match. Will TFC put forth an effort similar to that night in May or will we see the TFC that came out in July against SKC? For the optimist view even in the loss at home TFC gave KC fits in attack and gave up little to Sporting’s high power attack. The difference that night was that KC buried their chances and TFC did not. Perhaps the outcome would’ve been different that night if TFC had capitalized on their opportunities.
That makes two strong performances from TFC in two meetings with the Eastern Conference leaders. This past weekend, Sporting just suffered their first league loss since May 31st. That’s right MAY 31st! In a league like MLS, where results often even out, some might say that SKC is due for a little losing streak to balance all the positive results they’ve been having this summer. Others may look at this a TFC just a week too late and they’ll now get a refocused Sporting team.
Will TFC officially send KC on a losing streak? Can the Reds continue this fine run of form or will they come back to what most expect of them on the road? Post your predictions below or tweet your predictions to me, @Stouffvillain to ensure that your entry is accurately logged. As always 2 points for the correct result, 1 point for the correct TFC score and 1 point for the correct opponent score. Here are the up to date results.
