Thanks to a well played game by TFC's supporting cast and a moment of brilliance by Giovinco for the first time ever "Are you smarter than (insert former coach's name here)" will be going into extra time. A result almost no one had predicted on Wednesday have TFC booked into the playoffs for the first time ever. All that stands between now and that game is a match this weekend against Columbus and an away match next week in Montreal.
The win Wednesday not only sent TFC to the playoffs but vaulted them to 2nd place in the Eastern Conference. As things currently stand TFC are in position to get a bye in the first round of the playoffs. Things are so tight between 2nd and 6th that TFC could still finish in any of those spots. Winning this weekend would mean that TFC would finish no lower than 4th and be guaranteed a home playoff match.
While goal number one for the season has been achieved there is still plenty on the line these last two games. How do things play out this weekend when the Golden Boot leaders face off against one another?
