After the Anthem #5: The Great Vanney Debate, Defensive Issues and Jonathan Osorio Missing CanMNT

On the latest episode of After the Anthem the lads break down the week that was in Canadian soccer with a specific focus on Toronto FC's playoff burnout.

Mitchell Tierney and Michael Norton of Last Word on Sports are no detectives, but they do their best to sort through the nonsense that was the end of Toronto FC's season. That is where things start on the fifth episode of the After the Anthem podcast.

They explore whether or not Greg Vanney staying is the right move for the club, how the club can fix its defensive issues and whether or not Jason Kreis would have been the right fit.

In the second segment, the lads talk about the two Canadian teams that are still left in the MLS playoffs: the Montreal Impact and the Vancouver Whitecaps. They wrap up their first legs of the Conference Semi-finals and look ahead to leg 2 and what can be expected.

From there the show is taken over by Canadian men's national team talk and horrible Lionel Messi puns. The guys try to explain why Jonathan Osorio was not called up by Benito Floro for the latest round of World Cup qualifying. Then things turn into a back-patting session about the fact that the Canada-Honduras game will appear on TSN.

The show is hoping to be up on Google Play for Android users soon, but for now you can subscribe to it or listen through the regular outlets.
