Toronto FC vs. Oklahoma City Energy
Bradenton, FL 7:30 PM EST
TorontoFC.Ca/Live
Is all the cold and snowy winter weather getting you down? Have no fear! Trips to Florida are overrated. Instead you can take in the picturesque landscapes of Bradenton, Florida from your own home for free! There will probably be a bunch of guys in red and green running around obscuring the landscape, but that's an issue at any beach resort this time of year ( I don't know what that means, but it sounded provocative so I said it).
In other words, MLS preseason is starting up again. We have already seen DC United take home the best trophy in all of sports, and now its time for Toronto to start their own preseason action. Today's match against the Oklahoma City Energy kicks off the IMG Suncoast Pro tournament, in which they will also play the New York Red Bulls and HB Koge of the Danish 1st Division.
Here is a pre-match interview with Toronto FC's new assistant coach Robin Fraser, you can even see home palm trees in the background. I'm feeling warmer already.
A big storyline coming out of this game is the "homecoming" of sorts for new Toronto FC captain Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore. Both played at IMG academy with the US Development team, a program that has also been home to Landon Donovan among others.
Here is Toronto FC's starting lineup, one that will likely be very similar to that which starts the season against the Vancouver Whitecaps:
