Sergio Aguero to Suit up for Manchester City against Toronto FC

The Argentine is a surprise inclusion in the roster, but has joined the team plane to Canada and is expected to suit up against Toronto FC on Wednesday. Bright Dike will be returning to the fold for Toronto FC.

When it was announced that Manchester City would be playing Toronto FC in a friendly on May 27 the timing was confusing. It would be played only a few days after City finished up their English Premier League season, and one day before the team met the Houston Dynamo in yet another friendly.

With this news there was belief that very few, if any of City's stars would be available for the Toronto match, especially those like Aguero who have the Copa America on the horizon. Pablo Zabaleta and Martin Demichelis, his teammates with Argentina had already been announced out of the Houston game per the Manchester Evening News.

The Copa America is set to kick off on June 11 with Aguero's Argentina opening the tournament against Paraguay on June 13.

There are a couple of other surprises on the City roster as well, Yaya Toure is set to take on Toronto despite rumours that he has played his last Premier League game with the club and will leaving this summer. England goalkeeper Joe Hart will also be playing in the match.

How long any of these players will be on the field is anyone's guess, but it is unlikely to be for long as both Toronto and City cycle through their rosters.

Bright Dike Returning for Toronto FC

On a side note, Waking the Red has learned that Toronto FC have brought back forward Bright Dike for the game against City. Dike was loaned to the San Antonio Scorpions of NASL earlier in the year, but transfer rules don't dictate against him playing in this match.

Toronto FC did this last season with Ryan Richter, who at the time was on loan to the Ottawa Fury. Richter was returned to Ottawa after the conclusion of the match, and the same will be done with Dike. Richter has since moved to the Ottawa Fury full time.
