The MLS schedulers have been kind in giving TFC a winnable home match for their first of the season with Houston coming to town. The Dynamo come in reeling, winless in four games while conceding 10 times in that four game span. To make matters worse three of those matches were at home for Houston. There is plenty of talent at the back for Houston as well which could suggest that this blip in the season could soon be over.
Offensively Houston would expect more from their attack, the lack of a true threat up top has really hindered them this season. Even with Giles Barnes playing at a high level Houston needs Will Bruin to find that rookie season form as it looks like Cubo Torres won't be arriving until the summer window opens.
It is likely that TFC's back line will once again be put together with glue sticks and tape, though based on the last couple of matches it looks like TFC upgraded from masking tape to that Gorilla tape. When lineups are announced supporters will get to see if Greg Vanney learned since the last time that TFC played a team from Texas. Will Boneik Garcia have the chance to blow by a slow footed, out-of -position defender?
There was plenty of rest for TFC starters on Wednesday, will the decision to take a loss in the first leg of the Voyageurs Cup to Montreal yield a home opening win?
Scoring; 2 points for the correct result, 1 point for the correct TFC score and 1 point for the correct opponent score. Post in the comment section below or mention me (@Stouffvillain) before kick-off to be eligible.
