They left it late but the one and only Christine Sinclair once again became the hero for Canada the women's opening match of the Women's World Cup. Now after a long rest they are back at it against New Zealand on Thursday.
The Kiwi's are looking to right their world cup ship after falling to the Dutch in their opening match by score of 1-0. A second loss to Canada could well end their hopes of advancing past the group stage. New Zealand came into the World Cup as the 17th ranked nation, one spot behind China, and have been on the upswing since a tough 2011. New Zealand has been a .500 team since then with win-draw-loss records of 2-3-2, 3-3-3 and 1-3-1.
Will Commonwealth have 50,000+ spectators for game 2? Will Canada leave it late again? What is your prediction?
