What stung TFC more than just losing at home to New England was that every team above them in the East and the two directly behind them all managed to pick up points. It has become clear that the top four in the East are just a cut above the rest, every one of them are averaging at least 1.5 points per game. TFC will need to average and unlikely 2.0 points per game from here on out to reach the 1.5 mark.
On the positive side however it is still likely that TFC will make the post-season for the first time in history as the Reds still hold a five point lead (with two games in hand) over Orlando City. If the top four in the East really are the cream then TFC will need to be at their best when they meet them in the playoffs. It seems like we've been saying it all season but now things are down to the wire and TFC have 7 games left to figure things out (besides get it to Giovinco) or the 3-1 result from the weekend will be a taste of things to come.
Wednesday night the Reds travel to NYC in attempt to hammer a nail into NYCFC's playoff hopes. Can TFC prove they really are a level above the playoff hopefuls chasing them?
Scoring; 2 points for the correct result, 1 point for the correct TFC score and 1 point for the correct opponent score. Post in the comment section below or mention me (@Stouffvillain) before kick-off to be eligible.
