The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
Wednesday's loss in New York has had Toronto FC followers do their best Chicken Little impressions. A home game against Colorado could be just what the doctor ordered.
For a team that has been struggling defensively all year Colorado at home is a dream match-up. The Rapids are the lowest scoring team in the league with just 26 goals through 28 games and have managed to get on the scoreboard just eight times on the road this season. The other side of that is the Rapids don't allow a lot of goals either. In fact their 30 goals conceded are on par with many of the best teams in the league.
For Toronto FC it is a fair trade off, your strength versus your opponents strength and see who prevails. If the Reds do manage to get a clean sheet it could go a long way to start re-building some confidence down the stretch run. A loss or perhaps even a draw would be devastating to the atmosphere surrounding the team. As likely as it is that TFC will make the playoffs there is still work to do to solidify their position and no one wants to go into the post-season on anything less than their best form.
Do TFC right some of the wrongs that took place in New York or does this game add to the misery?
