The sinking ship that is the Chicago Fire arrive at BMO Field this weekend while TFC continue on their path to their first ever playoff appearance.
Sitting last in the Eastern conference and just one point away from being mathematically eliminated from playoffs Chicago has already fired their coach and are now solely focused on the future. Goalkeeper Sean Johnson has been shut down for the remained of the season as well. This is a Chicago squad that will have almost every player playing for a spot on the team next year.
The Reds really should take it to Chicago Saturday as this match means so much more to them. Montreal is now sitting only one point behind TFC with a game in hand. At one point in the season TFC looked like one of the top teams in the east, is that kind of form still in this squad? If it is they need to find it and soon.
An Orlando loss against the Red Bulls combined with a TFC win this weekend will leave Toronto FC one point away from clinching a playoff position for the first time in club history. If that isn't motivation to tear apart one of the worst teams in the league at home then what is? On the other hand this is exactly the kind of game that TFC have dropped over the years.
Scoring; 2 points for the correct result, 1 point for the correct TFC score and 1 point for the correct opponent score. Post in the comment section below or mention me (@Stouffvillain) before kick-off to be eligible.
