League Conference Call

This morning Toronto FC general manager Tim Bezbatchenko confirmed that Toronto FC are done for now on the transfer front. But that doesn't mean they are done adding players, as today the Major League Soccer Superdraft concludes with rounds three and four.

While it is incredibly unlikely that any of these players selected see time in Major League Soccer any time soon, the club will get a chance to improve its prospect base as well as Toronto FC II's USL roster. After only picking once in the first two rounds, taking Tsubasa Endoh ninth overall, Toronto have three picks today.

The club lost its highest pick, 56th overall, yesterday in a trade that saw them acquire Colorado Rapids keeper Clint Irwin. That means Toronto will pick 59th overall as part of the third round and 70th and 80th overall in the fourth round of the draft.

Toronto acquired the 59th overall pick in a trade that saw Bobby Convey join the New York Red Bulls. It was originally a Supplemental Draft but became a Superdraft pick when the Supplemental draft was discontinued. The 80th overall pick was acquired in a trade with the Columbus Crew in 2014.

Below is Toronto FC's draft chart for the 2016 MLS Superdraft. This will be updated in real time by a member of the Waking the Red staff:

Round Pick Player University/College Position
1 9 Tsubasa Endoh University of Maryland M
3 56 TRADED TO COLORADO
3 59 Mitchell Taintor Rutgers University M
4 70 Darius Madison UMBC F
4 80 Brian James Penn State M
