Come July 13th, Sebastian Giovinco could have another piece of hardware to add to his trophy collection thanks to his record breaking 2015 MLS season.

Last season Giovinco won a trio of Major MLS Awards, including the MLS MVP, Golden Boot and Newcomer of the year award. This is his first ESPY nomination.

Giovinco, along with Montreal's Laurent Ciman, New England's Kei Kamara, and New York Red Bull's goalie Luis Robles, has been nominated for an ESPY award in the category of Best MLS Player.

Past winners of the award have included the likes of Landon Donovan, David Beckham, Thierry Henry, Tim Cahill and Robbie Keane. If Giovinco were to win the award he would not only become the first Toronto FC player to do so, but also the first from any of the Canadian MLS teams.

Last season Giovinco led Major League Soccer with 22 goals and 16 assists. He has followed that up by scoring 8 goals and 5 assists so far this season, and is an early favourite to possibly repeat as MLS player for the year for a second year.

If the MLS MVP vote is any indication of how the ESPY awards will go, then this award is a given for the 2015 MLS MVP and deservedly so.
