On Wednesday night, it seemed as if the game was going to remain a stalemate for the full 90 minutes against Real Salt Lake. Then, Tosaint Ricketts happened.

The Canadian scored his first goal for Toronto FC in the 68th minute of play in front of the home fans. The ball came off of a goal kick from Alex Bono, which was then deflected off of the head of Jozy Altidore to Ricketts. He made no mistake and put the ball into the bottom left corner of the net off of his right foot.

Jozy Altidore played the role once again of the super substitute, coming off of the bench in the 56th minute with Ricketts, providing a lift off of the bench. Keeper, Alex Bono, recorded his third clean sheet of the season, while also earning the team's ninth of the season.

It wasn't the prettiest game, but it puts TFC into second place in the Eastern Conference, trailing only New York City FC by three points, who have played a game more than TFC. Another storyline to follow is TFC's dominance of late at BMO Field. The win brought the Red's winning streak to eight consecutive games without a loss at BMO Field.

Toronto FC will finish up their home-stand on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. as they take on New England Revolution who are coming off of a 3-1 loss against Orlando City SC.
