The next time you have a beer a little too close to your men’s league soccer game, don’t feel guilty, the pros do it too!
After Jozy Altidore scored an equalizer today against Atlanta United, a disgruntled fan threw a beer at the Toronto striker. Sebastian Giovinco, feeling a bit thirsty perhaps, decided to have a quick drink.
Who knows what was in the cup, but the Italian didn’t hesistate, providing easily the best goal celebration of the season from Toronto FC.
Fans had been booing Altidore, and Michael Bradley, throughout the match, presumably because of their role in the United States missing the 2018 World Cup. It is no surprise then, that Altidore wanted to give the fans a little extra after scoring.
It has been a tough month for Altidore, who says the days after the US were eliminated from Russia 2018 qualifying were some of the darkest of his career. But with two goals in two games, he appears to be using the disappointment as motivation.
