Victor Vazquez shut down for remainder of season

It appears Victor Vazquez's 2018 campaign is done. Toronto FC announced today that the Spanish midfielder has undergone arthroscopic knee surgery, and will therefore miss the rest of the season. The Reds, who have been officially eliminated from playoff contention, have decided it's best to let Vazquez get a head start on the 6-8 week recovery period in order to have him healthy to start a crucial 2019 season. Vazquez had eight goals and nine assists in 21 MLS matches this year.
