Waking the Red FC is back, and we need your help again!

We need your donations! Will you answer the call?

Hoping to open up a new development pathway for Canadian player-bloggers, Waking the Red FC is officially back! We’ll be taking part in Kristian Jack’s 11th annual ‘Football for Good’ charity tournament on December 2 at Toronto FC’s BMO Training Ground.

Football for Good is an organization that helps bring the Beautiful Game to children in Africa with top-notch development and education programs. All the proceeds from KJ’s tournament will go directly to helping kids in Uganda.

Last time out, WTR FC brought in a couple ringers and managed to make it all the way to the tournament’s consolation final before losing on penalties. This time, well, we can’t promise to do much better than that but we’ll do our best. Look forward to hearing about the blistering skills of fan favourites like Mitchell Tierney, Tagwa Moyo, and Oliver Platt.

Unfortunately it looks like Arsène Wenger is off the market, so we may have to see if time can heal the wounds that led to manager James Grossi’s sacking at the last tournament.

Anyway. We’re hoping to raise some money on top of the $1,000 we’re already putting forward as our team fee! We’ve set up a GoFundMe, and we really hope some of you will help out by donating to this cause.

Click here to donate. Anything you can spare would be hugely appreciated!
