Toronto FC finally got around to starting their shopping for 2019 this past week. The club re-upped defender Auro and grabbed Nick DeLeon in the re-entry draft with an eye towards improving their attack.

But there is still plenty to be done as the club tries to rebound from an unexpectedly poor 2018 season. Toronto FC are still likely looking at bringing in another wide attacker, a midfielder, a centreback and some goalkeepers as Toronto FC II don’t have any on the roster either.

Joshua Kloke of The Athletic joined the Footy Talks podcast this week to look at the lastest news on the Toronto FC transfer front. Everything from where they plan to use DeLeon to the goalkeeper situation is discussed.

Also on the show, he and Mitchell Tierney discuss a number of moves that Toronto FC II made and how they are gearing younger for their first season in USL division two. They also talk about II’s 14-year-old signing, Canada Soccer’s deal with Nike and the new MLS playoff format.
