Preview:

On Saturday afternoon, the Mississauga MetroStars will host the Florida Tropics at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre (formerly the Hershey Centre) in their first-ever home game.

After being blown out by the reigning champion Baltimore Blast last week, the MetroStars look to bounce back in front of their home fans. In attendance will surely be a number of Toronto FC fans who are making the trip to Mississauga to catch former TFC players Mo Babouli, Adrian Cann and Dwayne De Rosario.

De Rosario, even at the age of 40, is showing that he still has plenty of fuel left in the tank in his comeback from retirement. He has scored two of the team’s three goals (with the other being scored by Babouli), including the first goal in club history:

The Florida Tropics enter this game in first place in the South Central division, having won their only game so far by a score of 9-4. They will look to go 2-0 while the MetroStars will try to pick up their first win. The MetroStars will have to pay special attention to Tropics midfielder Anthony Arico who scored an early candidate for Goal of the Year last time out:

Team news:

After missing the first game of the season because of a suspension he earned last season, Marco Rodriguez will be in the MetroStars team for the first time. Rodriguez played for Saturday’s opponent, the Florida Tropics for two seasons, scoring ten goals and adding seven assists.
