Introducing the Footy Talks podcast, a new show which has partnered with Waking the Red, hosted by our very own Mitchell Tierney. The show will cover a variety of topics from across the soccer world, but at least one segment per show will focus on all things Toronto FC and Major League Soccer.
On this edition of the Footy Talks live podcast, Mitchell Tierney talks to Canadian soccer journalist Gavin Day about the men’s national team. Day is over in Murcia, Spain covering the team’s first camp under new head coach John Herdman.
The pair discuss Herdman’s plans for the Canadian men’s national team, as well as a few names from this promising young group. They also look ahead to Saturday’s friendly match against New Zealand and what sort of test that will present for Canada.
Then it’s on to 2026 World Cup talk. Should the united bid of Canada, the United States and Mexico be worried about Morocco’s bid? Can the Big O safely host World Cup games?
Finally, it’s a breakdown of Toronto FC and the Montreal Impact. What has been going wrong for Toronto so far in MLS play? Why does Ignacio Piatti always cause them nightmares?
All that and more on this week’s Footy Talks podcast. Listen below or subscribe on Itunes.
