FT: CPL Finals Leg One: Cavalry FC 0 - 1 Forge FC — Cavalry end up happy with the result after being bombarded with pressure from Forge, especially after Borges’ sending off.
90+1 — The talking point in this match — aside from Forge’s inability to take advantage — will of course be Tristan Borges and the referee’s decision to send the Golden Boot front runner off.
Wow. Shocking decision to send @ForgeFCHamilton’s Tristan Borges off.— Waking the Red (@WakingtheRed) October 26, 2019

87’ — What a block! Mason Trafford! Forge have had just an absurd amount of chances and it’s shocking that they’ve only had one to show for it. If it ends this way, Cavalry will be thrilled.
83’ — Sergio Carmago coming on for Cavalry. Let’s see if that changes their fortune around as it’s been all Forge — but still only the lone first-half stoppage time goal to show for it.
80’ — Yikes. That call was not good. Really taken the spotlight off the players.
72’ — This game has everything. We’re down to 10v10. Can they review that Borges decision, because I don’t know about that one...
69’ — RED CARD! BORGES IS SENT OFF! WHAT? That’s a shocking decision. WOW.
65’ — Those clouds do not look too appealing... hopefully they hold off for the next 25 minutes or so, just like Cavalry are hoping they hold off Forge. So far the damage is only one, which the team from Calgary will take down a player after Waterman was sent off in the first half.
58’ — MADNESS!! What a save Carducci, and then his best friend today, the crossbar, helps him out again. Cavalry are hanging on by a thread as Forge have had an abundance of second chances in the second half. The Cavalry GK has been unreal.
Getting hectic out here! @CPLCavalryFC hanging on with 10 men. @mcarducci96 making huge stops and the bar coming in clutch for the third time to deny @ForgeFCHamilton ️— OneSoccer (@onesoccer) October 26, 2019

53’ — Tristan Borges is having fun out there. Could’ve had a couple so far. A goal or two certainly wouldn’t hurt Forge’s chances when they travel to Calgary next weekend...
50’ — Can’t say that we saw this coming. It’s been all Forge in the first leg as the home team dominates possession. 72 per cent? That’s Barcelona numbers.
46’ — We’re back! Can Cavalry hang on to make the second leg interesting?
HT — Still 45 minutes to play, but Forge definitely have the upper hand. They lead 1-0 thanks to Tristan Borges, and are up a man after Joel Waterman saw red for a handball.
45’ + 1’ — Forge FC 1-0 Cavalry — Borges makes up for his penalty miss with an excellent shot from long-range! The first goal in CanPL Finals history sees Borges extend his lead atop the Golden Boot race as well.

45’ — Forge denied by the crossbar again!
39’ — Marco Carducci makes the save! Borges was denied from the spot by the Cavalry goalkeeper.
38’ — Joel Waterman has been sent off for Cavalry. He’s been superb in this match, so he’ll be a big loss for the rest of this game, and the second leg.
Drama at Tim Hortons Field. @CPLCavalryFC's Joel Waterman sent off following a hand ball in the box. Tristan Borges to take the penalty...— OneSoccer (@onesoccer) October 26, 2019

37’ — Penalty to Forge! Borges is standing over it.
35’ — Kyle Bekker smashes one off the crossbar from well outside the penalty box. Forge are controlling possession at the moment.
30’ — Ledgerwood and Borges are renewing acquaintances with each other. This game is starting to get a bit feisty.
24’ — Oliver Minatel goes into the book for a reckless challenge.
14’ — Chris Nanco fires just wide of Marco Carducci’s goal.
12’ — Kyle Bekker nearly curled a corner into the back of the net, but it goes just wide.
10’ — Not a lot going on thus far. Both sides have had chances, but nothing too major yet.
1’ — The first leg of the CPL Finals is underway!
4:00 — Anthems are done, moments away from kickoff.
3:45 — Fifteen minutes away! There are a number of watch parties in Calgary, including this one:
3:15 — Both sides are out for warmups now! Expecting a crowd of around 10,000 this afternoon.
