Canada Soccer announced today that midfielder Ashley Lawrence has won the 2019 Canadian Women’s National Team Player of the Year.

The 24-year-old Paris Saint-Germain Féminine midfielder wins the award for the first time after a strong season for both club and country.

Lawrence featured in all 15 matches that the CanWNT played in 2019, including all 4 games at the Women's World Cup. For the second year in a row, she led the national team in minutes played, and also led the team with 4 assists.

Thus far in her 2019-20 season with PSG she has one goal in 10 matches across all competitions.

She shares the award with men's national team forward Jonathan David, who took home the honours for the men’s team.
