The Canadian Prodigy scores his first of many in the Bavaraian colors

The Canadian teenager has found the back of the net for the first time for his new club as Bayern Munich hit lowly Mainz for six in the Bundesliga. Davies came off the bench in the

59th minute for his fifth appearance of the campaign having only just joined in the winter transfer window. Davies wasted no time in showing his killer instinct as he capped off a beautiful spell of Bayern passing with an instinctive first time finish off a rebound. Check it out here:

A clinical finish and a moment to remember for the young Canadian. Not only a classy finish but a nice celebration and looked of genuine joy. A surreal moment for Davies who also broke a few records in the process including:

  • Youngest Bayern goalscorer in 20+ years
  • Only Canadian player to score for Bayern.
  • Only player to be born after the year 2000 and score for Bayern.

The cherry on top has to be to turn around and see Franck Ribery and James Rodriguez coming to congratulate you. The first of what will hopefully be many for Alphonso Davies!
