Footy Talks: Facing Seattle without Drew Moor a huge test for Toronto FC

Plus CanPL on CBC and Canada’s Gold Cup group

MLS: Chicago Fire at Toronto FC Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sports

The toughest test of the year to date awaits Toronto FC when they travel to Seattle tomorrow. The team face a Seattle side who are also undefeated this season and look to be one of the league’s truly elite sides in the early part of this season.

Toronto will likely have to face this test without one of its most important pieces, as it appears defender Drew Moor will miss the game through injury. What Greg Vanney does with a backline that has already appeared shaky will be perhaps the most intriguing part of this match.

Mitchell Tierney was joined by Jeffrey P. Nesker and Benedict Rhodes of Waking the Red on this week’s edition of the Footy Talks podcast to help preview that game. The gents also discussed the latest on Arjen Robben, some other names they think Toronto FC could be after as well as their reaction to the Nick DeLeon extension.

There is plenty of other news to get into as well in Canadian soccer as they talk about the latest reporting on a CanPL TV deal, Canada’s Gold Cup draw and a big win for the Canadian women’s national team.
