Toronto FC II lost for a third time in a row on Friday night, falling 2-0 to Orlando City B.
At Montverde Academy in Florida, the same place where they started the season with a victory, the Young Reds made their way down south to finish off their lengthy six-game road trip to start the 2019 campaign.
Orlando had the majority of the possession of the ball in the first half, and in the 19th minute, came close to scoring the game’s first goal, but an excellent save from Kevin Silva, in his second consecutive start on loan from Heart of Midlothian FC Reserves, kept the ball out.

After a pair of chances for Orlando went wide of the post, they would finally break through in the 42nd minute.
After a long pass from Rafael Santos found Serginho near the halfway line, he picked out a trailing Moises Tablante on the right wing. Tablante cut inside onto his left foot and curled a shot into the top left corner to give his side a 1-0 lead.
A few moments later, as Rafael Santos was closing in on the TFC II goal after a long volleyed pass from a defender, Franco Ramos Mingo tackled him from behind, which resulted in a straight red card and a penalty. Silva made a nice save to keep out Austin Amer’s penalty, and the score remained 1-0 going into halftime.

Toronto FC II were unable to find an equalizer before OCB would have a second chance from 12 yards out after Julian Dunn took down Tablante in the area. This time it was Thiago Souza stepping up to take the penalty, and he made no mistake, doubling Orlando’s lead in the 74th minute.
Toronto FC II only managed to get one shot on target in this one, something they’ll likely have to change if they are to be successful in their next game, which is on Friday, May 24th at 4 p.m.
It will be the first home game for TFC II this season. Starting this year, home games will be played at the BMO Training Ground at Downsview Park.
