On first flush, a few surprises - The inclusion of Toronto FC’s not-so-gentle giant Noble Okello will certainly raise some eyebrows, as will the omission of Barcelona B prospect Ballou Tabla.
Personally, I was surprised to see Will Johnson on the team sheet, but we’ve heard often enough how much John Herdman values veterans in the locker room, so I suppose that plays a part.
Canada’s Campaign begins June 15th as they take on Martinique in Group A action.
“We laid a good foundation culturally and tactically through Concacaf Nations League Qualifying & the team seem focused and ready to push each other and the country as far as they can in the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup."
