Rumour: Adria Arjona training with Toronto FC

Thanks to the eagle-eyes of WTR legend Mariner’s Stupid Shorts, let’s indulge ourselves one more trip to the “silly-season” buffet table and lose our collective minds over a very, very, VERY unsubstantiated rumour. Based on a single tweet, essentially.

There's a lot to unpack:

1. The fact that he’s wearing TFC gear is interesting. Is he training with the club?
2. He’s wearing TFC gear and the twitter caption reads “good opportunities”
3. Those are a lot of thumbs in the ‘up’ position.

A quick click to Transfermarkt reveals many things, not the least of which is his ripe old age of 2.3. A Google Search confirms Mariner’s suspicion that this guy came up through the famed La Massia academy. Lot of big game experience in his youth career and is currently playing for CF Reus Deportiu B , the reserve team of Reus Deportiu in Tercera División – Group 5.

He’s a right winger, too.

What do we think? Where there’s smoke ...? or is this guy over here keeping fit with his old buddy Poz, nothing more? Like when David Beckham trained with Arsenal before going to PSG?

Is “training with the club” more informal than I assume? I’ve always thought “invited to train with club” is more about the club getting a look at the guy than it is said guy keeping fit at the gym.
