A pair of goals from Zlatan “Irba” Ibrahimovic in the final fifteen minutes were the difference on Thursday night, as the LA Galaxy defeated Toronto FC 2-0.
Marky Delgado had a chance to open the scoring in the opening five minutes, but his effort went well over the bar.

After a relatively quiet 20 minutes after the early shot, LA had the best chance of the half in the 22nd minute. After the ball was crossed in from the left side, the shot from the Galaxy attacker crashed off the post. The follow up effort was stopped on the line by Richie Laryea.

After the break, Alejandro Pozuelo almost caught the LA Galaxy defenders sleeping in the 52nd minute. TFC took a quick corner, and he almost made them pay but luckily for the Galaxy, someone came rushing back to prevent him from getting a shot away, or else he would’ve made it 1-0.

In the 75th minute, Zlatan Ibrahimovic did what he does best: score goals. After a perfect cross from 17-year-old Efraín Álvarez, Zlatan headed the ball back across the goal, beating an outstretched Quentin Westberg. It was another excellent goal in what has been a great season thus far for him.

Zlatan put the game to bed in the 89th minute, taking advantage of some poor defending from Toronto FC. He got into a pocket of space unmarked, ran onto the cross and calmly chipped the ball over Quentin Westberg for his second of the game.
