It was the visiting Greenville Triumph who came out victorious last Friday afternoon, as a first half scoring outburst saw them win 3-1 at the BMO Training Ground.
Dominic Boland got the scoring underway for Greenville, pouncing on a rebound in just the 7th minute. After a shot from Omar Mohamed was turned away by Yann-Alexandre Fillion, Boland had a wide open goal to shoot at, and made no mistake.
Greenville would score twice in quick succession later in the half, as both Jake Keegan and Omar Mohamed found the back of the net within 3 minutes of each other.
After a pass from Fillion was mishandled by Fito Ovalle in front of the TFC net, Jake Keegan pounced on the ball, before it rolled toward teammate Carlos Gomez. Gomez's shot was saved, but he grabbed the rebound and passed it across the box to Keegan, who rolled it under the TFC II goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
Moments later, Omar Mohamed found the back of the net to make it 3-0 for the visitors. After a long ball down the pitch found Gomez, he ran toward the goal before passing it across the box again, this time to Mohamed, who fired it into the goal. It was a poor defensive goal from TFC II, as there were several players who were out of position and not tracking their runner.
TFC II got their only goal in the 64th minute, as first-team forward Ayo Akinola ran onto a through ball from Matthew Srbely before chipping the ball over a rushing Greenville Triumph goalkeeper.
