The Reds head to Texas to play the league leaders

Toronto FC II are down in Frisco, Texas this evening for a match with league-leading North Texas SC. TFC II will be looking for all three points as they are winless in their last six matches, and look to inch back toward a USL League One playoff spot.

North Texas SC are currently two points ahead of the second place Lansing Ignite, although Texas have two games in hand. Toronto FC II currently sit in 8th place, 7 points back of the fourth and final playoff spot. There are currently four teams tied for that fourth spot — Forward Madison, South Georgia and Chattanooga, but Forward Madison are ahead of the other two on goal difference.

Toronto FC II and North Texas have met twice already this season. In the first encounter, on May 29th, TFC II came out with a 3-2 victory. Patrick Bunk-Anderson, Matthew Srbely and Terique Mohammed scored the goals for II, and Jacob Shaffelburg provided a pair of assists.

In the second encounter, on June 12th, a sensational second half from TFC II saw them reverse a 3-0 deficit, coming back to tie it 3-3 thanks to a 92nd minute goal from Franco Ramos Mingo. Griffin Dorsey and Matthew Srbely had the others.

This will be their first meeting at Toyota Stadium, home of FC Dallas, who are the parent club of North Texas SC.
